Dhamma Park is the headquarters of the Dhamma Park Foundation & Gallery, which is situated 40 km from the Northern Thai Capital of Chiang Mai & 12 km from the provincial Capital of Lumphun. It was opened to the public in the year 2000.

The Dhamma Park Foundation & Gallery became a Foundation in August 2002. It is an independent, non-profit organisation under the auspices of the Thailand National Culture Committee:
Reg. No: T285 / 2544, Lumphun City.

It has been recognised as a Peace Park & is an official partner in UNESCO’s programme for “Building Cultures of Peace & Peace Education for the Children of the World.” It has received an Appreciation Award from “We the People’s initiative & Pathways to Peace,” International Secretariat & Official Peace Messenger to the UN. The Dhamma Park Project has the approval of HH the Dalai Lama.

The Foundation evolved from the English born Buddhist Sculptor & Peace Builder, Venetia Walkey’s original project, to create a 21st Century Eco-Spiritual Theme Park, where the Arts, Nature, Humour & Sustainable Science would combine to heal the breach between Materialism & Spirituality, Nature & Nurture, to develop environmental & spiritual consciousness & encourage ethical values in society via Humour & the Arts.

Venetia is Co President & Coordinator of the Foundation & Director of the Dhamma Park Gallery. Dhamma Park is in effect, a pilot scheme for the full scale project. She received an award for “Outstanding Women in Buddhism” at the UN Building in Bangkok in honour of International Women’s Day in March 2004.

Inson Wongsam is also the Director of Heritage Gardens which is combined with, but independent of the Foundation & where his works of art created over 40 years are on permanent exhibition.

Venetia Walkey & Inson Wongsam, welcome people of all ages & faiths (or none at all), to the Sculpture Park & Contemporary Ecumenical Centre for Spiritual Development & the Arts they have created.
